JSC in the News: James Mabior
The News and Citizen published a front-page story during the week of April 12 about James Mabior, his organization, Werkok Youth Development Association, and his efforts to bring clean water to his home community in Southern Sudan.
JSC Spinners Raise Funds and a Ruckus
Staff and friends of Johnson State College comprised the largest (and most vocal) team at the "6-Hour Ride for a Reason" fundraiser for the Vermont Special Olympics on Sunday, March 21, 2010. Members of the JSC team raised nearly $3,000 for Special Olympics and occupied the entire first row of spin cycles at the 10th annual event, held at the Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in Burlington. Participants biked nonstop from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with only occasional five-minute restroom breaks.
