JSC Slides Past VTC in Blood Drive!
On Wednesday, October 20, JSC community members stopped by SHAPE to donate blood during the college's bi-annual blood drive. Kelly Palmer, assistant director of community service at JSC reports:
As you know, we were going for the "all time record".... we didn't beat JSC's all time record of 180, but we did beat our record since 1998 with 133 productive units of blood. That means that 133 units of blood are usable to patients in need. For every unit/pint of blood there is a potential to save 3 people's lives. We had many more walk through the door and I appreciate everyone's effort in trying to be a part of this important event, especially when the American Red Cross has a critical need right now. They send their appreciation as well.
Our next blood drive is scheduled for March.
