The Johnson State College community took a big bite out of hunger on Friday, November 20, 2009 by donating 22 boxes of Thanksgiving meal fixings, as well as $619 to go toward the purchase of turkeys and other seasonal foodstuffs, to the Johnson Food Shelf. Students James Dempsey and Ashley Favreau, leaders of the "Hunger and Homelessness" Break Away trip that 10 students will be taking to Washington, DC during their February break, organized the local service event.
