The Cow is Here!
A 5' tall, 6" long cow made of fiberglass arrived on campus today. Art students will be working with Leila Bandar over the next few months to "brand it" with their unique JSC style, after which it will be displayed on Church Street in Burlington through the summer as part of the "Cows Come to Burlington" project. The cows will be auctioned off to raise funds for the Vermont Campaign to End Childhood Hunger.

Photographer Edward Grazda Speaks
Photographer Edward Grazda, whose photos are being exhibited in the Dibden Center for the Arts Wings Gallery through December, spoke to JSC community members on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 in the Stearns Performance Space. Grazda showed slides of his work and talked about his project, in which he has been documenting the mosques of New York City and the way that they reflect and create identities for Muslims within dense and diverse urban fabric of the city. This Creative Audience gave community members a chance to learn more about Grazda and ask questions about his work.

Art in the Courtyard
On Monday, Sept. 21 and Friday, Sept. 25, artist Clark Derbes and JSC art students and faculty prepared the surface of the Visual Arts Center courtyard and then transformed the space with paint. Click on the image to view a photo album of the process.
